Tour Schedule Change
It goes without saying that our country is in the midst of interesting times. Those of us who are not in the vicinity of the fallout from hurricane Katrina can only watch in shock at the amount of destruction caused by this natural disaster. Our hearts and our prayers have continually gone out to those in these areas and the families that have lost loved ones.
As a result of the hurricane, most you already know that fuel prices have jumped considerably, surpassing $5.00 in some areas of the country and averaging about $3.00+ a gallon as of today, with no sign of letting up soon. Because of this, we have had to pray for direction and for wisdom if coming to your area on tour would be the best decision at this time. After praying and seeking the Lord and the counsel of our Pastor and friends, we have concluded that we legitimately cannot afford to travel the full distance we had hoped to on this tour. Jacob's Well does not charge to book concerts or charge admission to concerts. We have always maintained that where the Lord would lead us to go, He would provide for us...and He always has! We inform fellowships from the start that we only ask for a "love offering and/or honorarium of whatever you can afford" to be considered in lieu of a booking fee. So what makes this diffrent than any other tour we have gone on? Absolutely nothing. God has been faithful to provide, however we simply feel that it is not the "right" time for us to embark on the tour beyond the West Coast and Mid-West States of WA, OR, CA, ID, UT, CO, OK, TX, NM, and AZ due to sudden and radically rising gas prices & the unsettledness of the southern states, where most of our concerts have been booked.
We have been encouraged by you, the fellowships who have invited us to come share with you and worship with you this season. Elise and I feel very encouraged by this decision and trust you will accept or most sincere apologies for asking you to postpone our visit to your fellowship. We would however like to discuss rescheduling a date with you in the near future if the Lord would lead you to do so. If you are interested, please let me know and we can begin praying together about the best way to make this happen.
In the meantime dear Saints, continue praying for the people who have been devastated by this tragedy. Not only that, I petition you also to pray for our country... that in the midst of such catastrophic tragedy, countless souls would recognize and respond to the Lord! What interesting times we live in....
God richly bless you all!
