::Santa Clarita CA::
Sitting at Starbucks near Santa Clarita California (Near Magic Mountain). We just left Anaheim after having a great 3 days with family and friends. We were celebrating the 100th birthday of my grandmother, Ida "Speed" Loomis. She is an amazing person. I will be sure to post some photos from the event asap.
Now that Elise and I are heading back to Seattle, we will have some much needed 'married' time to move into our new home and be alone. I know that sounds a little weird, but believe it or not, Elise and I don't get much time to just be alone and married. I for one feel a little guilty and responsible for not protecting (as much as I should) our alone time. It's very hard being a traveling ministry to do that! However, after our marriage retreat last weekend with the wonderful people of Calvary Chapel Poulsbo, we learned (all over again) that our marriage is our #1 ministry. The ministry to one another is by far the most important thing, besides our relationship with the Lord. How can we effectively lead others or minister to others when our marriage is not being taken care of? How can we pray with/for others when we aren't even praying with/for our spouses? Some things to chew on.
All that to say, it's a wonderful day here in California...the sun is out and it's a nice 75 degrees. And because it's sunny, I feel led to encourage all you who are married to spend a little bit more time with your spouse. Encourage them and even pray with them. Men, step up and be the man God has designed you and CALLED you to be in the marriage. Lead your wives! Tell them you love them and that they are the most important thing to you in all the world!
Ok, back to my Odwalla and sunshine. We only have 15 more hours to go till we drive back into Seattle.
