First Snow of Winter 2005

::SEATTLE WA::

Elise and I just pulled in from the gym where I was able to muster about 15 minutes on the Elliptical Trainer...but more exciting than that is that it is currently snowing HARD here in Seattle. Part of me wishes I would get excited, but the truth is that my wife has to get up at 4am and drive in this muck. I always get a little worried when she has to do that.

In other news: YOU ARE BETTER is currently available on GRASSROOTSMUSIC.COM and is already a STAFF PICK! Cool stuff. If you are not part of our NEWSLETTER (you should be if you aren’t), then you probably are not aware of our decision recently to go back to Grassrootsmusic and mend some things with them. If you aren’t familiar with what we mean by ‘mend’, then you probably haven’t been following us for that long and should be ashamed of yourself! Ok so mabye that’s the snow getting to me...

in OTHER other news: We just got our new BOSE system from...well...BOSE! If you aren’t familiar with the new products that BOSE is making for touring musicians, check out their link at www.bose.com/musicians. We are so excited to offer a GREAT sound system at all of our concerts from today on! No more sound man needed! YIPPEE!!

We are also just about ready to publish our new PODCAST. That will be available in the coming weeks, as will our albums being sold on iTUNES! That is coming very soon. More on that as we get it....

Thanks to all of you who have been praying for my brother, sister-in-law and niece. I spoke with them last night and although they are banged up and in some pain, they are alive and back home in NC with family now. For more updates as they come, please refer to the message board. La Verne CA

::LA VERNE, CA::

What a wonderful time we had with all of you guys in La Verne! We loved seeing so many people from SEATTLE! Word!! Thanks for making it a great trip. Please keep kevin in your prayers...he is leaving for Seattle tomorrow (flying) to get to his nephew's funeral. He will be coming back on friday and meeting us in Sacramento for a concert in El Cerrito. After that, we are on our way back to Seattle...only a couple days left of concerts...

God bless you guys and thanks so much for loving us....we love you!

Testing Times

It never ceases to happen...whenever we head out on tour for any length of time, the enemy pops his head up and attacks us from every angle. Here's what has been happening with us this week as we have been touring the west coast:

On Saturday October 29th we got word that Kevin's 2 year old nephew had suffocated in his sleep and passed away. Kevin is leaving the tour on Thursday the 3rd and will return on the 4th for the concert in El Cerrito CA. Last night we also got word that my (Rob) brother, sister-in-law and neice Hailey were in a horrible car wreck while driving from Seattle to North Carolina. Their car was run off the road in a bad thunderstom and flipped 5-6 times in the median. Everyone survived but not without breaks and bruises/cuts. They were moving back to get a fresh start on things and now, they have absolutley nothing. Needless to say, the three of us here have been brought to our knees a lot this trip. We are asking you all to please pray for these people and to remember them in the coming days.

On a happier note, we met up with our good friends SEVEN SIMPLE PIECES from Hawaii at the Cornerstone in Anaheim where we each played for the Harvest Festival. What a great time it was! We made some amazing new friends there in Anaheim! If you are in town tonight, we will be playing for the college group at 7pm!
