FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS
Q: How much does Jacob's Well charge for
events?
A: The members of Jacob's Well
have personal expenses just like most people that
require a regular financial income. We are not
100% free of charge, although in the past we have
done concerts for free for those that were
honestly unable to afford to pay us anything.
With the rising cost of gas & other expenses
these days, we have had to make some changes to
keep our tires rolling. With that said, we fully
do believe that where God guides His people, He
provides for His people. We also believe that
honest & integral communication regarding
this subject is essential on our part and on the
part of the promoter or leadership representative
of a church or venue looking to book us. Finally,
we do not want money (or the lack thereof) to be
a deciding factor in your decision to book
Jacob's Well for your event. Please let us know
how we can serve you with that in mind.
Q: If you are able to sell your CD's will
you come and play for free?
A: This is addressed on a
case by case basis. Many times in the past 10
years churches and venues have used this as an
excuse NOT pay a traveling ministry anything at
all. To their credit, many of these people do not
understand that CD sales more often than not with
most bands does NOT traslate into money for the
members. These merchandise sales pay for our
running costs to get us down the road each day
and to cover maintainance and/or replacement of
gear, car parts, gas, lodging and unexpected
costs that always pop up while touring. We rely
on Love Offerings and/or Honorariums (money given
by the church in addition to a love offering) to
pay for our personal expenses and to provide for
our families. If you are in a position where you
would like Jacob's Well to participate in your
event but are honestly unable to pay anything at
all, please let us know. If you are looking to
book another band for free for your next event
because you don't WANT to pay anything (although
you could), feel free to call us and explain why
you think it is reasonable that you should not
have to pay anything to an artist participating
in your event.
Q: I want to book Jacob's Well but they
aren't on tour near my city. Now what?
A: Your event may require
Jacob's Well to fly to and from your venue
location. In this circumstance, any airfare as
well as room & board will need to be covered
by you or the promoter of the event. You may want
to get in touch with other churches or venues in
your area and see about planning a few events
over the course of a few days to help with these
costs. Get in touch with us and we can let you
know how to make this happen.
Q: Do you do house concerts?
A: We LOVE doing house concerts!
Infact, in some ways, it's preferred over larger
venues but not always as suitable. It also tends
to keep the costs lower for you. If you are
thinking about putting together a house concert,
let us know! We'll give you some good tips.
Q: Do you travel with your own sound
system?
A: This depends on the
venue. Many venues are more than equipped to
handle having huge festival size events at their
locations, while some other places can hardly
handle putting a CD in their CD players (if they
even have one) without the speakers blowing up.
So to answer the question: Yes, we are ABLE to
travel with our own sound. And if you have an
event booked on an already scheduled tour, the
odds are that we will have a sound system with
us. Wether or not we use ours or yours will be
disccussed in the booking process. For those
interested, we travel with the BOSE Personal
Amplification System.
Q: Is Jacob's Well signed to a record
label?
A: Jacob's Well is
currently not 'signed' to any major, minor,
independent, quasi-independent, foreign, domestic
or interplanetary record label. Being independent
has allowed us many advantages over the past 10
years of our lives. However, we are not against
the idea partnering with a record label. Many of
our friends have deep rooted & wonderful
relationships with their record labels. We also
have numerous close friend who are involved with
these record labels. We have just chosen not to
spend or be spent making 'getting signed' our
goal.
Q: Do you like sushi?
A: Sushi happens to be one of
our favorite foods. Quite possibly one of our
favorite types of sushi is the Hawaiian 'POKE'
(pronounced Poh-kee). If you give us fresh Poke,
we will more than likely do some sort of weird
dance...which could make for good video
footage.
